Elegance and Grace: Designing a Luxurious Residence!

Designing a beautiful home with elegance and grace is challenging, as there are so many different elements that come into play. Where to start? What colours to choose? What furniture to buy? What theme shall we follow?

Luxury!

Fortunately, these are some of the most common questions about interior design that can be found online, and we have fortunately been able to come up with some answers for you. But before we do that, we must first go over a few things: what is luxury?

Luxury, or decadence, can be defined as “a state of self-indulgence”, “a gratification arising from the contemplation of sensuous qualities”. These definitions will help us better understand why a high quality living area is so important. A custom-designed residence should be made in such a way that it will reflect the owner’s values and preferences. It should serve as a testimony of his character, a place that he can be proud of. Also, it is important to remember that the residence we propose to build for you should always have the purpose of creating an environment which will provide you and your family with a high level of comfort, safety and privacy. Consequently, we would like to explain the necessary aspects that need to be taken into consideration when designing this area.

Following are some suggestions on how you can add elegance and grace in your interior design: –

  • Enhance the general appearance of your living area by using extravagant colours like black, grey or purple for accents throughout.

like you can use a rich velvet bedspread in various shades of blue or purple to showcase the tone prominently – whether it is among furnishings in complementary shades or as the focal point of an otherwise neutral room.

  • Contrasting colours like this will create a dynamic effect and draw attention to those pieces.
  • Pay extra attention to the curtains and fabrics you choose for your decorative schemes in order to ensure that they play an important role in the overall look of your room.

Try accentuating the colours you use throughout your space, rather than use them as a secondary colour; this method will highlight the decorators choice instead of making it appear as smaller details. –

  • Be selective in choosing the materials you choose to incorporate into your room. Instead of using something that may be found often in your household, try picking out something unique and one-of-a-kind. This will not only add additional dimension to the space, but it can also create an image of opulence and wealth, which is linked closely to luxury. –

For all of these purposes, you should consider incorporating antiques, and period pieces into your design styles. These pieces are often less common than the other furniture you find in most homes, and can also be more expensive.

These things will give the entire room a very detailed and intricate look, which is applicable for smaller rooms or rooms that need an element of detail for its overall design.

Elegance!

We dare you to take a moment and think what the word elegance means to you. We are sure there are some words that come to your mind, such as sophisticated, classy, chic or graceful. Well, in our opinion these qualities should be the goal when decorating your interior design space.

Today we will show you some ways on how to achieve that goal with a few tips and ideas below:

  • Add some plants around the room. The presence of plants makes the atmosphere more relaxing and calm.
  • Keep in mind that the colour of your home should be harmonious and pleasing, try to match the colour of your house with the colour of your furniture

For example: white or ivory for white or light coloured furniture, green for dark colours, red for bold colours etc.

  • Add texture and volume to your space with a few decorative pillows.
  • Don’t forget to arrange your furniture properly, keep in mind that symmetry looks great and it helps organizing the space.
  • Do not try to put too many pieces of furniture in a small space, it will look cramped and uninviting.
  • Create a beautiful center piece with glass vases and small pebbles, they will make your space looks more inviting.
  • Use some light plants like ferns, hydrangeas, zinnias or cactus to add texture and depth to your interior design.
  • Try to use a few pieces of furniture in different colours and textures, for example: a white leather sofa with green accent pillows or an oak coffee table with black marble top.
